Whether it’s incredible green spaces, charming country pubs or good local schools you’re after, it’s always helpful to know where local house prices sit in a changing market before you make any firm decision on where exactly you want to call home.

House prices across the UK have experienced a slight dip in recent months due to rising interest rates and high inflation. Many homes listed ‘For Sale’ are now sitting on the market for longer with many sellers being forced to reduce their asking prices.

However, there are some areas of the country where house prices are still rising despite the cost of living crisis and other economic pressures. Data from the Land Registry for March 2023 has unveiled which towns are still experiencing price rises.

According to the data, Guildford was named the top-performing town when it came to house prices.

But what about The Wirral…

Completing the Top 10 list was indeed The Wirral Peninsula in tenth place, alongside Harrogate, Truro, Torquay and Swindon.

When broken down by house type, detached houses are performing the best, with a 1.59 percent increase from February to March 2023.

On average, the price of a detached property has increased from to £456,170, according to the data.

The Wirral is home to tens of thousands of terraced properties and this particular style of home has seen the most significant decrease in prices during the same period, decreasing -3.92 percent.
